The Xenetech’s Factory Technical Support Team –An Extension of Your Business

What would it cost your business to maintain a staff of technical support professionals with a combined 135 years of engraving industry experience? Fortunately, if you're one of the thousands of Xenetech customers you don’t have to answer that question because you have access to this experience every day via phone, e-mail, or fax. Xenetech technical support professionals answer hundreds of “how to” and trouble shooting questions each week. Questions that range from the straight forward to the very difficult, but the Xenetech team draws from its wide variety of rotary and laser engraving and cutting experience to address them all.

Xenetech teams with your area distributor each day to provide comprehensive technical support. Let’s meet those most responsible for our customers’ ongoing success from the factory level.

Ben RosensteinBen Rosenstein – 25 years

Ben has been in the engraving industry since 1985. Prior to joining Xenetech 13 years ago this week, Ben engraved samples and trade show display signage for Rowmark, Inc. with Xenetech equipment. His primary role with Xenetech is that of senior customer service representative, responding to customer questions, visiting customers in the field, and testing customer applications and equipment. When he is not busy with Xenetech work, Ben is conducting board business of the Baton Rouge Mustang Club or visiting family, friends (and yes, customers) in his RV.

Jason MintonJason Minton – 11 years

The former manager for a Baton Rouge sign and engraving shop where he used Xenetech equipment, Jason joined Xenetech in 2002. At Xenetech, you’ll find Jason responding to customer calls and e-mails, sharing his knowledge with customers at a variety of engraving, sign, and jewelry trade shows, or out at a customer’s site providing training. Originally from Ohio, Jason attended Marshall University and maintains A+ and NET+ Certifications. In his non-Xenetech time, Jason, has settled down from his motorcycle riding days to spend quality time with his wife and daughter. We’ve converted him to be an LSU fan, but we do hear him talking Thundering Heard (Marshall) football through the halls at Xenetech, on occasion.

Gary McNattGary McNatt – 20 years

Gary began his engraving industry in Michigan where he owned two different engraving shops and managed a trophy and sporting goods store. He moved to Louisiana five years ago to join the Xenetech staff. While Gary’s main role at Xenetech in his years here has been responding to technical calls, he has contributed in a number of ways including, on-site repair, training and installations, and sales. While Gary and his wife profess to enjoy the Louisiana climate and culture much more than Michigan, you can still find him and his dog “Mo” traveling north to visit his second home.

Jimmy DuboseJimmy DuBose – 21 years

Jimmy is Xenetech’s customer service and sales manager and much of his time is spent supporting distributors’ efforts to take care of Xenetech customers. He began his career in the engraving industry in 1989 at an industrial engraving shop in Pasadena, Texas. He quickly rose through the ranks to manage the entire engraving function including nine engraving employees and well as working as a salesman for Xenetech equipment. He joined Xenetech in 1996 as a customer service representative and now manages that department along with sales. It is not uncommon for customers to see Jimmy conducting user training clinics, working the trade show floor, or becoming involved in productivity-enhancing product development. Jimmy attended Texas A&M, but he is a huge Astros fan and it would not be out of the ordinary to catch him watching his favorite team while visiting his extended family with his wife in Houston.

John LundbergJohn Lundberg – 22 years

Xenetech’s chief engineer and Vice President of Research and Development began working for Xenetech for free! John joined Xenetech as in intern 22 years ago and immediately impressed company founder Jay Hoffpauir. John quickly moved up the ranks and has been an integral part of Xenetech’s success designing all rotary and laser engraving systems currently manufactured by Xenetech. John’s role in customer service is one of support and product improvement. It is not uncommon for John to talk directly with customers about their needs or work in consultation with Xenetech customer service representatives or Xenetech distributors. While not writing code for Xenetech’s Viper Communication Suite or designing systems, John is spending time with his wife and children and flying remote control airplanes.

Michael HamptonMichael Hampton – 11 years

In any given week of any given month of any given year, Mike Hampton may be spotted in England, Australia, Greece, Korea or any other city or country you may imagine. He travels the world in support of Xenetech customers’ success, providing training and repair services and supporting distributors. Mike also helps customers succeed with Xenetech equipment by writing Xenetech manuals and user guides. He joined Xenetech in 1997 left the engraving industry for a couple of years in 2002 and returned to Xenetech in 2004. When not jumping on an airplane, Mike has been spotted enjoying his favorite java at Starbucks, riding his motorcycle on the highways and byways of Louisiana, or performing magic tricks for local school children.

Cary JohnstonCary Johnston – 10 years

Xenetech prides itself on finding and developing great technical talent – even if it takes the form of an Ole Miss fan. Cary joined Xenetech 10 years ago in the production department, but worked his way up to his current primary role of Software Development Manager. Cary draws from his 26 years of software writing experience to fulfill his responsibilities. Daily work consists of talking with distributors and customers to understand market needs, coordinating new product software development, as well as supporting legacy versions of XGW-32 and Xenetech print drivers. It is not uncommon for a problem or opportunity reported that Cary addresses and resolves in a day or two. While not writing code, Cary is performing music and to be fair, enjoying a good LSU or Ole Miss football game.

Carey SolomonCarey Solomon – 15 years

Carey joined Xenetech in 1995 and worked in our shipping department while he attained his degree from LSU. Over his 15 year career he has worn many hats, but his current responsibility is IT Manager for Xenetech. In addition to managing all internal networking, Carey works on the effectiveness of Xenetech products as well as helping customers and distributors resolve networking conflicts and issues. He spends a large portion of his day supporting Xenetech customers directly and indirectly. When not helping Xenetech or its customers, Carey consults for others outside of this industry. You will also find Carey outside of his Xenetech work, enjoying a variety of music (he's also a musician) or working on his Mazda RX-7 and Alfa Romeo Spyder.
