Distributor Engraver's Choice - June 3, 2008

Heading up the territory of California, Arizona, Utah, and Hawaii is Master West Coast Distributor Engraver’s Choice. Joe and Cher Braga lead Engraver’s Choice in the sale, support, and training on the full Xenetech Product line. Joe and Cher have Factory Representatives throughout their sales region: Frank Mullaney in northern California; David and Melanie Adams in Provo, Utah, and Bob Meyer in Tempe, Arizona. Additionally, they have sub-representatives and at-large representatives throughout the territory.

Joe Braga and Engraver’s Choice also maintain a close working relationship with other master distributors across the globe. This is especially true of Steve Gonder, principal of Xenetech Northwest, Xenetech’s master distributor for the Pacific Northwest and Damon Scott, head of the AES group, Xenetech’s master distributor in Australia. It is not uncommon for Joe Braga to travel through the Western United States and as far away as Australia, conducting Xenetech, CorelDraw, and FlexiEngrave training classes multiple times each year.

Joe has been with Xenetech for 11 years and has been an active member of the engraving industry since 1990. He started as a technician with Dahlgren, Suregrave, and Vision, and then ventured out on his own to MultiCam and ULS, He later began providing tech support for Xenetech systems. Once Established as a technician, Joe expanded to sales with Universal Laser Systems, GCC, and FlexiCam routers while selling Xenetech as his main line of engravers. After experiencing a wide array of systems and the support demands for mills, large routers and class-4 lasers; Joe decided to consolidate to the Xenetech line of lasers, rotary engravers, CNC mills and class-4 lasers. Joe also represents the Scanvec software product line and hosts the www.CorelDrawtraining.com website. Today, Engraver’s Choice produces training manuals and videos for CorelDraw products, and Xenetech XGW-32, and will soon produce videos for Scanvec’s FlexiEngrave product.

In the past, Joe has written for GraphicsPro Magazine, Visual Impact in Australia, and the Award’s and Recognition Association’s Recognition Review. His articles include "Tech Tips", a monthly column in A&E, and "Tech Time" in the Engravers' Journal -- both are widely read publications in the engraving industry. Joe’s focus in writing these articles has been to help engravers care for their own equipment, including saving time and money by performing some of their own repairs.

In addition to comprehensive engraving experience, Joe’s background includes 23 years of military service. He has 10 years of active duty and 13 years of reserve duty. Joe has been in combat in Central America and the Persian Gulf, as well as a short deployment post 9-11, and the latest Iraqi War. He has also worked in the business machine industry both as a field supervisor and as a production manager in Japan for Toshiba and Canon.

Cher Braga started in the engraving industry in 1990 with a small shop, expanded to the military base at El Toro, and then to a large shop in 1997. Cher recently sold her operation and is now fully entrenched in the sales, service, and training Engraver’s Choice offers customers. The Factory Representatives Engraver’s Choice has on staff are all engraving and sign specialists, offering over 75 years of total experience. Frank Mullaney, a U.S. Navy retiree, has owned his engraving and sign operation for 15 plus years and is our expert in sublimation and badges. David and Melanie Adams have owned an acrylic business for 5 years and are our experts in scrap booking and vector cutting. Bob Meyer is our glass and sandblasting expert and is well known as being a “guru” with CorelDraw.
