Golden Sales and Service Takes Xenetech To Customers

Distributor Golden Sales and Service - Serving Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska.
January 22, 2008

From pantographs to Viper® technology, Xenetech Midwest master distributor Golden Sales and Service, Inc. has grown with the engraving industry.

Jim GoldenJim Golden started an engraving business in March of 1980 producing signs and engraved tags. He purchased the best technology he felt was available to engravers at that time - a large format pantograph engraving machine with several fonts and all the necessary shears and cutters. Soon after his purchase he attended a trade show in Chicago and saw the first computer operated engravers which were exhibited at the show. “I spent a good portion of my time at the show learning all I could about the systems and by the time I left the show I knew that I would need to purchase the new system as soon as the funds were available, “ stated Jim. In 1982 he purchased his first of many computerized systems, and soon after, retired the pantograph.

“The first time I saw the Xenetech engraver was at a trade show in 1986,” recalls Jim. “I was really impressed with the advanced capabilities. The software and engraving machine could do so many things that were not possible with any of the other engravers on the market. My next purchase would not be just another computerized engraver - Xenetech would be my choice.” Jim purchased his first Xenetech system in 1991 and during the next five years purchased three more Xenetech rotary machines. When Xenetech introduced lasers in the 1990s he purchased a 100 watt Xenetech laser.

Jim liked his Xenetech equipment so much he became a distributor for Xenetech in 1993 selling, installing, and servicing equipment in the state of Minnesota. Distributing Xenetech equipment agreed with Jim and in 2004 he sold his successful sign and engraving business and became the Xenetech Master Distributor for Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Minnesota.

Jim was fortunate to add talented and engraving industry experienced representatives to his organization. Dennis Wood is a distributor serving Illinois and Wisconsin, and Scott Bullington and Paul Axtel serve North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.

“We are very fortunate to have Jim and his team of professionals supporting Xenetech customers in the Midwest. Jim’s 27 years of direct engraving industry experience, the related experience of Dennis, Scott, and Paul, along with their culture of service, makes Golden Sales and Service uniquely qualified to help engraving customers. When our customers need solutions for their business, it certainly helps to have distributors who have personally managed and grown a similar business providing the answers,” stated Xenetech President Guy Barone.

“This is a very fast changing industry and Xenetech has managed to stay ahead of the curve in laser and rotary world because of their dedication. I have been on several sides of the engraving business, owner, buyer, seller, operator, and I understand how important it is when you have equipment that is not working properly,” states Jim, “Things get serious pretty quick when the work stops. Our commitment to our customers is strong and undying.” Jim’s credo: “I love learning new things, and the day I failed to learn something new, I was not paying attention.”
